Challenge
With the reputation that Taplanes have when it comes to leak-free bathroom solutions in high use environments, YHA at their Castleton property were having issues with their vinyl floored bathrooms.
YHA were looking for an alternative bathroom solution due to the vinyl floor weakening around the trap of the shower, due to the volume of people who are using these types of facilities combined with harsh chemicals that are typically used to combat bacteria growth around sealants and grout. The damage caused by the leak from the vinyl flooring ran through the floor and affecting the joist, causing the structure to swell and create destructive damage that cannot be seen. These types of leaks can also affect residents through the smell of mould which would need urgent attention.
The nature of the rooms YHA needed a solution that can be put into a room without the need of any alteration and disruption to the facility and the residents that are already there.
Scope
Castleton project with YHA is an on-going project where both mini-pods and shower cubicles are being manufactured and supplied for their property. Currently three of our pods are onsite with orders of another 11 to be supplied at YHA Castleton.
Result
YHA are a long-standing client of Taplanes where recommendations to other hostel providers have been given with the nature of the work that we carry out for them and their facilities. By being a charity disposable income is limited, by working with Taplanes YHA save money by not needing to worry about any further costs that may incur from leakages from their bathrooms along with no more added stress through maintenance of their buildings within their bathrooms with all our designs factoring how our products can be serviced by our clients. By doing this this it gives our customers the peace of mind that we don’t give them a product and leave them, we make our products with them in mind and the future maintenance of the future.
